 | RNP News makes RNP more widely knownIn March, the printed newsletter RNP News was released, adding to the news area of the public site, in an effort to make the activities at RNP more widely known . Besides recording the work done by RNP nationwide, the newsletter has the purpose of showing initiatives, projects and results of regional networks as well as informing the interested public about the activities of international organizations which support the evolution of the Internet worldwide. In May, the Spanish version of RNP's site was inaugurated, containing practically the same content as that of the original site in Portuguese. All the resources are available, including the mirror of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Just a few articles were left out of the translated version. RNP's site also has an English version, created in July 1999. In September, ReMAVs' site (in Portuguese) was introduced into public use, as a result of the project of the High Performance Metropolitan Networks.
