Presidential message during opening of Exhibition and Forum of Technological Innovation

The Exhibition and Forum of Technological Innovation, opening today, together with the Brazilian Quality Fair, are examples of a joint effort and a demonstration of the great Brazilian potential to take the technological leap necessary to our economic and social development.

In the current conditions of the world economy, it is fundamental that the participation of assets of greater technological density - thus, greater attached value - grow in our export agenda.

In the last years, due to the painstaking work of Minister Ronaldo Sardenberg, the national system of Science and Technology has been going through important transformations.

We consider two thousand and two the Year of Innovation in Brazil. It is a milestone, translated into new projects and actions implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Exhibition and Forum of Innovation, which were open today are, therefore, a great demonstration that, like what happens in the developed world, the participation of the private sector in research and development has been increasing in Brazil.
