Networking security workshop at Mozambique’s Eduardo Mondlane University


Networking security workshop at Mozambique’s Eduardo Mondlane University March 10, 2000 - The UNESCO Offices in Maputo and Montevideo, the Computing Centre at Mozambique’s Eduardo Mondlane University and the Brazilian National Research Network joined forces to organize a four day seminar on networking security for trainer of trainers which will be held from 14 to 17 March 2000 in Maputo, Mozambique. The training course will bring together 30 participants, mainly network administrators, but also for students, teachers and technicians. It is part of the international co-operation among Portuguese-speaking UNESCO Member States.

Technical instructors Renata Cicilini and Jácomo Dimmit Boca Piccolini from the Security Incidents Response Center (RNP - Campinas, S. Paulo) will be using teaching materials, CD-ROMs, softwares and technical assistance that will be provided free of charge by RNP and the Information Society Project of the Brazilian Ministry for Science and Technology.

After the workshop, which completes a series of recent co-operation activities with Mozambique, UNESCO will evaluate the possible establishment of a co-operative thematic network in the area of the information society involving Portuguese speaking Member States.
