The Technical Meetings of the FIRST are forums for discussion where the members of FIRST share information about vulnerabilities, security incidents, tools and other related issues that may affect the operation Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs).
On 2005, was organized in Argentina, the first Technical Meeting of FIRST in Latin America. With the name of Computer Security Workshop (Jornadas sobre Segurança na Informática), two other events were organized together with the TC FIRST focusing security:
- FIRST Transits Course – organized on October 1 and 2, only for invited guests, with the purpose of guiding the formation of new CSIRTs;
- Security Workshop – organized on October 3 and 4, open to the general public, discussed issues related to the merger of CSIRTs and other sectors related to computer security, and also technical issues related to the treatment of security incidents. The Buenos Aires event recorded the need to conduct periodic meetings about computer security in Latin America.
Colaris - Latin American Conference for Security Incidents Response(Conferência Latino-Americana de Resposta a Incidentes de Segurança )
The conference has the purpose of promoting information security culture, fomenting the establishment of new Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in Latin America and training representative of the new CSIRTs.
